 San Vicente Valley Club’s general meeting and luncheon will be on Wednesday, May 30th at the San Vicente Valley Inn, 24157 San Vicente Road. The luncheon is open to the public; guests are encouraged to make reservations at the front desk of San Vicente Inn or call Mary Jo Adamske (760) 787-1566 or cell (760) 703-0123 by Friday May 25th for Club luncheon reservations only. The cost is $12.00.  If a cancelation is necessary please contact Mary Jo.

The hard work that students put into school is paying off for some of them this month as we award them our scholarships. We will also be inducting our new officers.

The order of events for the day will be: Social time 11:00, Call to order 11:30, Luncheon 12:00, Program 1:00.

We are a nonprofit organization for all residents of Ramona brought together for the social, philanthropic and civic betterment of the community with our generous charitable contributions towards student scholarships and the needs of our community. Control your Swing Path

By far the most common mistake average golfers make is slicing there golf shots. The shot starts to the left of the target and curves drastically to the right (for right handers). Accuracy is a product of being able to swing the arms and club on a circular path: inside the target line during the downswing, on the target line at impact and then back inside as soon as the ball is on the way. It’s the body rotation that enables you to do that. You should be rotating away from the target on the backswing, but to repeatedly hit the ball solidly and on line you have to rotate your body through the shot too.

When you swing down, your body should be turning to the left to ensure that your arms keep swinging the club on the correct arc. This rotation towards the target does not stop until the ball is long gone.  You may have been told to keep your head down through impact, but that can hamper your ability to rotate. Instead let everything rotate open, and you’ll keep the club on track.
